Biography

After completing my undergraduate degree at the University of Durham, I completed an MSc(Econ) in social psychology at the LSE. Prior to and after undertaking clinical training at the University of Leeds, I worked in learning disability services in Yorkshire, South Wales and Manchester and also for the National Autistic Society in London and Nottingham. This latter position may enable me to claim that I had the largest patch of any clinical psychologist in England and Wales, as it was all of England and Wales!

My role as Research Director involves supporting trainees with both the large and small-scale research elements of the D.Clin.Psy, as well as teaching on research methods and supervising individual research projects in the areas of learning disabilities and developmental disorders. I sit on the executive training committee, research subcommittee, curriculum subcommittee and examination board, as well as the SPS Ethics Committee
