Specific language impairment
Studies of the nature of specific language impairment (SLI): from underlying memory deficits to overlaps with autism spectrum disorders. -
Developmental trajectories in SLI
Longitudinal studies of development in children and young people with specific language impairment (SLI) ranging from educational and social outcomes to anxiety and depression.
- Developmental speech disorder
The study of children with atypical use of speech sounds: their phonological awareness and underlying phonological representations; measurement of intelligibility; factors contributing to unintelligibility; appropriate intervention. -
Pragmatic language impairment
Studies of children who have difficulty with pragmatic aspects of communication; particularly investigations of effectiveness of intervention and clinical assessments development, including conversational skills and functional outcome measures. -
Cross-linguistic language development
Studies of the acquisition of syntax and discourse pragmatics in children raised bilingually; cross-linguistic comparisons of the development of syntactic comprehension and production in monolingual children acquiring a range of European languages (English, Italian, Spanish, Czech).
