Applicants for PhD study are expected to hold a minimum 2:1 at undergraduate level. However, additional qualifications or research experience can compensate for a 2:2 degree under certain circumstances.

Course fees: For entry in the academic year beginning September 2012, the tuition fees are as follows:
-
PhD (full-time)
UK/EU students (per annum): £3,828
International students (per annum): £15,400 -
PhD (part-time)
UK/EU students (per annum): £1,914
International students (per annum): £7,700
Please note for the majority of projects where experimentation requires further resource: higher fee bands (where quoted) will be charged rather than the base rate for supervision, administration and computational costs. The fees quoted above will be fully inclusive and, therefore, you will not be required to pay any additional bench fees or administration costs.
All fees for entry will be subject to yearly review and incremental rises per annum are also likely over the duration of the course for UK/EU students (fees are typically fixed for International students, for the course duration at the year of entry). For general fees information please visit: postgraduate fees . Always contact the department if you are unsure which fee applies to your project.
Funding support is available in the form of studentships offered through the ESRC (1+3 and +3 studentships), MRC and ESRC/MRC Interdisciplinary Studentships. These awards cover tuition fees and maintenance for UK students and fees only for EU students.
International applicants can seek support from the Overseas Research Scholarships (ORS), which provide the difference between the UK/EU and International rate of tuition.
Other School bursaries are also available. Applicants seeking funded places are advised to contact the School directly, or visit the Psychological Sciences website for further information.
