Thank you for your patience in waiting for the results of the ACT NoW study. The content of the very detailed final report is being approved by the NIHR (final proof reading stages) and is scheduled for publication imminently when it will be free to download from the NIHR HTA website
- Bowen A, Hesketh A, Patchick E, Young A, Davies L, Vail A, Long A, Watkins C, Wilkinson M, Pearl G, Lambon Ralph M, Tyrrell P on behalf of the ACT NoW investigators. Clinical effectiveness, cost effectiveness and service users’ perceptions of early, well resourced communication therapy following a stroke, a randomised controlled trial (The ACT NoW Study). Health Technology Assessment (in press).
We have prepared two shorter journal papers that have been submitted to the BMJ and are currently under review:
- Bowen A, Hesketh A, Patchick E, Young A, Davies L, Vail A, Long A, Watkins C, Wilkinson M, Pearl G, Lambon Ralph M, Tyrrell P on behalf of the ACT NoW investigators (under BMJ review). Does early, enhanced speech and language therapy for people with aphasia or dysarthria after stroke add more benefit than providing support alone? The ACT NoW randomised controlled trial (Assessing Communication Therapy in the North West).
- Young A, Gomersall T, Bowen A (under BMJ review). Trial participants’ experiences of early, enhanced speech and language therapy for people with aphasia or dysarthria compared with support from an employed visitor: what do the qualitative study findings tell us about the RCT results?
Once we have secured their acceptance we will be able to publish a summary of our findings and conclusions on this ACT NoW website and send a copy to everyone on our distribution lists.
