Objectives
The primary aims of the Psychological Sciences Outreach Group are:
- To promote and facilitate involvement of the School of Psychological Sciences staff and students in widening participation and public engagement activities, within the framework of the university strategy
- To actively form and maintain liaisons with local schools and community groups, with a view to encourage those from diverse backgrounds and cultures to enter the education system
- To tap into opportunities provided by other organisations, funding bodies and groups working towards similar aims, e.g. opportunities to participate, training and funding
- To create a database of activities/resources for use by the School for widening participation and public engagement purposes
- To share good practice in area of widening participation and public engagement both within the university and further afield
