Join The Great Parenting Experiment
October 2006ITV1 and 2 are repeating the recent series of 'Driving Mum and Dad Mad' in October and November. The series shows families using the Triple P Positive Parenting Programme week by week to help manage their child’s behaviour.
A team led by Dr Rachel Calam in the School of Psychological Sciences is inviting parents of three to nine year old children to work alongside the series, and try out the positive parenting advice for themselves.
All parents will receive a free self-help workbook at the beginning or end of the study.
What will parents have to do?
We will ask parents to fill in questionnaires about their child’s behaviour and about how well they are coping with parenting, and how they are feeling. Parents are asked to fill these in before and after they watch the television series, and again a few months later to see whether the advice that is offered is helping their child. We would like to be able to use the information from the questionnaires to find out whether watching the positive parenting television series is helpful.
